Nineteen live job postings for social media and adjacent roles published a salary range on 2026-08-28, and this page reports what those nineteen postings offered and what they asked the role to cover. The postings came from twelve companies hiring on their own applicant-tracking boards. Every pay figure below traces to one employer’s own posting, and every row in the table links to it.
The collection is small on purpose rather than by accident: only postings that published a range themselves were eligible, and nothing was inferred, estimated or filled in. Section 1 states the rule in full. The scope half of the page comes from the same nineteen documents, read on the same date, so the range and the responsibility list for any given role sit at one URL.
1. How these postings were collected
The dataset is nineteen job postings from twelve companies, collected on 2026-08-28 from the public endpoints of three applicant-tracking providers. Thirteen postings came from Greenhouse, three from Lever and three from Ashby. Seventeen postings carry the role family tag “social media” and two carry the tag “influencer and creator partnerships”, which are reported separately throughout and never pooled.
Six rules governed inclusion. They were frozen in a written method file before collection ran.
- The candidate pool was a hand-compiled list of 630 company board tokens, weighted toward technology, direct-to-consumer, media and agency employers. This is a convenience sample, not a census of employers.
- Only three applicant-tracking providers were queried: the public job board endpoints of Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby. No job aggregators, no LinkedIn, no scraped search results. Greenhouse documents its public board endpoint at developers.greenhouse.io (retrieved 2026-08-28).
- A title filter admitted social media, social content, social marketing, head of social, social strategist and social creative titles, plus the two adjacent families community manager and influencer marketing or creator partnerships, tagged separately. “Social work” titles and pure paid-social buyer or analyst titles were excluded.
- The posting itself had to publish a range, either in a structured salary field or as a range in the body text. Nothing was inferred from a comparable role, an estimate engine or a third party.
- Only annual United States dollar figures were kept, inside the window the collector actually implements: the low end had to be at least $30,000 and no more than $400,000, and the high end had to exceed the low end and stay at or below $600,000. Hourly postings fell out at the $30,000 floor rather than through any hourly-rate detector, because the collector has none. Postings whose location string matched a non-United States keyword list were dropped so that every range is in one currency.
- Rows were de-duplicated by posting URL. One company posting the same role in three cities counts three times, because the employer published three postings.
Two funnel counts are recomputable from the saved artifacts and both go on the page. The candidate pool held 630 board tokens. Of those, 241 resolved to a live board carrying at least one open posting on the collection date, and all 241 board names are recorded at collection time. A third count is missing: the collector never wrote down how many postings matched the title filter before the salary rule was applied. That number is not recoverable from the saved files, so this page does not report a match-to-range ratio and does not estimate one.
The scope half of the page needed a second pass. The dataset itself records ranges and URLs but no posting text, so all nineteen posting bodies were retrieved again on 2026-08-28 through the same providers’ public endpoints and read in full. All nineteen were still readable. That pass is what Section 4 is coded from, and it also surfaced six recording issues in the file, which Section 2 discloses rather than quietly patching.
2. What each employer published
All nineteen rows are below, none held back. Each row links to the employer’s own posting, and each posting was read on 2026-08-28.

Table note. Employers published these ranges with a variety of separator characters, including hyphens, en dashes and em dashes. Every range is printed here as “$X to $Y” in prose and split into two columns in the table. No number was rounded, rewritten or converted to a different precision. Where an employer published a shortened form, the numeric value is recorded in full: Descript published “$110k to 140k” and Perplexity, Ramp and Rothy’s published thousands-notation figures such as “$110K to $170K” through Ashby’s compensation tier field.
Three postings publish no range in their body text at all. The three e.l.f. Beauty postings carry the range only in Lever’s structured salary field, and each body reads “The base salary range for this role is listed above.” Those three rows are reported from the structured field, which is what the applicant sees on the page.
Six corrections to the recorded rows
The retrieval pass on 2026-08-28 found six recording issues. All six are disclosed here rather than fixed silently.
- Both Epic Games postings publish more than one range. The collector recorded one range per posting, so the table above understates what Epic Games advertised. The Social Media and Content Ops Director posting publishes three regional ranges, and the Influencer Marketing Director posting publishes two. Section 3 reports the order statistics twice for exactly this reason.
| Epic Games posting | Region | Published minimum | Published maximum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Social Media and Content Ops Director | New York City | $156,674 | $229,788 |
| Social Media and Content Ops Director | California | $143,617 | $210,638 |
| Social Media and Content Ops Director | Washington | $130,561 | $191,489 |
| Influencer Marketing Director | New York City | $178,214 | $261,381 |
| Influencer Marketing Director | California | $163,363 | $239,599 |
- Rothy’s publishes two different maximums on one page. Ashby’s compensation tier summary on the posting reads “$120K to $145K” and the body text under the heading “Pay range” reads “$120,000-$145,860/annually”. The dataset recorded $145,000. The table above uses the body figure of $145,860 because it is the more precise of the two published forms. Neither figure is an extreme in this collection, so no order statistic in Section 3 depends on the choice.
- The three e.l.f. Beauty rows carried the placeholder string “salaryRange field” in the column meant to hold the employer’s own published wording. That string is a collector artifact and appears nowhere in the postings. The wording is unavailable for those three rows, which is stated above rather than papered over.
- Both Epic Games rows carried the location string “BLANK,BLANK,Multiple Locations”, which is a board artifact. Both postings state their own geography in the body. The Ops Director posting reads “This role is open to multiple locations across the US (including CA, NYC, & WA)” and the Influencer Marketing Director posting reads “This role is open to multiple locations across the US (including CA & NYC)”. Both are United States postings, which also confirms they belong in a United States-only collection.
- The Betterment row’s URL carried the
gh_jidparameter twice. The duplicated form resolves normally, so nothing was broken, but the table links the clean canonical form.
- Two strings carried trailing whitespace in the file: Glossier’s advertised title and Descript’s location string. Both are trimmed for display here. No advertised title was otherwise altered.
Two readings of the table are worth stating plainly, and both are about named postings rather than about a market. Flexport published the identical title in three cities and two distinct ranges: New York City and San Francisco both at $90,000 to $114,000, and Chicago at $80,000 to $104,000, a minimum $10,000 lower for the same advertised job. SeatGeek published the identical title twice, in New York and as Remote United States, at the same $80,000 to $116,000, so a remote posting and an office posting from that employer carried no published difference at all.
3. Where the minimums and the maximums sit
Every figure in this section is an order statistic: the lowest or highest value observed, or a count of postings sitting at a stated value. Each one attaches to a named posting in the table above. No average, median, midpoint or “typical” figure appears anywhere on this page, because nineteen postings from twelve companies cannot support one.
Because Epic Games publishes multiple regional ranges per posting, the figures are reported two ways. The first counts one range per posting, which is what the dataset file records: 19 ranges. The second counts every range each posting publishes: 22 ranges across the same 19 postings.
The 17 social media postings, one range per posting.
- Lowest published minimum: $80,000, in 4 postings. Those four are Flexport’s Chicago posting, both SeatGeek postings and the e.l.f. SKIN Manager posting.
- Highest published minimum: $173,568, at Brex.
- Lowest published maximum: $99,500, at Betterment.
- Highest published maximum: $216,960, at Brex.
- Narrowest advertised span: $10,500, at Betterment, which published $89,000 to $99,500.
- Widest advertised span: $60,928, at Epic Games for the Social Media and Content Ops Director, using the Washington range the collector recorded.
The 17 social media postings, counting all 19 ranges they publish.
- Lowest published minimum: unchanged at $80,000 in 4 postings.
- Highest published minimum: unchanged at $173,568 at Brex, because Epic Games’ highest social media minimum is the New York City figure of $156,674.
- Lowest published maximum: unchanged at $99,500 at Betterment.
- Highest published maximum: $229,788, Epic Games’ New York City range for the Social Media and Content Ops Director. Brex’s $216,960 is second.
- Widest advertised span: $73,114, Epic Games’ New York City range for the same posting.
The 2 influencer and creator partnership postings, reported on their own. Two postings support no cross-family statement whatsoever, so they are listed rather than summarized. Rothy’s published $120,000 to $145,860 for an Influencer Marketing Manager in San Francisco. Epic Games published $163,363 to $239,599 in California and $178,214 to $261,381 in New York City for an Influencer Marketing Director. Those two postings hold the highest published maximum in the whole collection, and they are never pooled with the social media figures above.
Community manager titles produced nothing. The title filter in Section 1 admitted community manager titles alongside social media titles. Across the 241 resolved boards, zero community postings published a range on 2026-08-28. That is a finding about which postings publish pay, not a finding about what community work pays.
One number is worth holding onto while reading all of the above: n is 19, across 12 companies, on one day. That is small enough to rule out a per-city breakdown, a per-seniority breakdown and any comparison to a market rate.
4. What the same postings ask the role to cover
The same nineteen postings that published a range also state what the role covers, and this section counts those statements. The nineteen posting bodies were retrieved and read on 2026-08-28, the same date as the pay collection, through the providers’ public endpoints. All nineteen were readable, so the coded n and the pay n are both 19.
The coding scheme was written down before the postings were coded, and it is published here so every count is auditable against the linked postings in Section 2. Eighteen functions were coded.
- Channel or content strategy: the posting names developing, defining, owning or leading strategy.
- Copywriting or captions: the posting names writing post copy, captions or editorial content.
- Video production or editing: the posting names shooting, editing or producing video.
- Graphic design or visual asset production: the posting names making graphics or editing images.
- Publishing and content calendar operations: the posting names scheduling, publishing or calendar management.
- Community management: the posting names replying to comments, DMs, mentions or moderating a community.
- Social listening or trend monitoring: the posting names tracking trends, sentiment, competitors or cultural moments.
- Reporting and analytics: the posting names measurement, metrics, dashboards, KPIs or reporting.
- Influencer or creator partnerships: the posting names creators, influencers, talent or advocates.
- Paid social: the posting names paid social, paid ads or whitelisting as part of the remit.
- Cross-functional or stakeholder partnership: the posting names partnering with other named internal teams.
- People management: the posting names managing or leading direct reports.
- Employee advocacy or executive social support: the posting names getting colleagues or executives posting.
- Launch or event content: the posting names product launches, campaigns, events or tentpole moments.
- Escalation, compliance or brand safety: the posting names routing risks, escalating issues, compliance or governance of brand voice.
- Budget management: the posting names owning or tracking program spend.
- Agency or vendor management: the posting names directing agency or vendor partners.
- Content outside social: the posting names blog, newsletter or other non-social content.
A function was counted only when the posting names it in its role description or its responsibilities list. Items appearing only under “nice to have”, “bonus points” or “preferred” were not counted. That rule is what keeps the counts checkable rather than impressionistic.
| Function | Postings naming it (of 19) | Social media family only (of 17) |
|---|---|---|
| Reporting and analytics | 19 | 17 |
| Cross-functional or stakeholder partnership | 16 | 14 |
| Channel or content strategy | 15 | 13 |
| Copywriting or captions | 15 | 15 |
| Publishing and content calendar operations | 15 | 15 |

| Content outside social | 4 | 4 |
| People management | 2 | 2 |
| Budget management | 2 | 1 |
| Agency or vendor management | 2 | 0 |
| Paid social | 1 | 0 |
Reporting is the only function all nineteen postings name. Paid social is named as part of the remit in exactly one, Rothy’s Influencer Marketing Manager, which asks the person to “Secure content usage rights and negotiate UGC deliverables for inclusion in paid ads, whitelisting”. People management is named in two: Brex asks the Lead to “Lead and develop a Social Media Associate”, and the Naturium Director posting names team leadership. Seventeen of the nineteen postings name no direct reports at all.
The counts per posting spread from six to twelve.
| Posting | Functions named |

| Epic Games, Influencer Marketing Director | 6 |
Five postings ask one person to write the copy, shoot or edit the video, make the graphics, run community replies and report on all of it. Those five are Betterment, all three Flexport postings and Glossier. Flexport states it directly in the posting: “This is a hands-on job for a strong writer who gets social, has an eye for design, and likes shipping work rather than just planning it.” Flexport also adds two functions outside social to the same job, since the same posting asks the person to write blog content and to “Produce our newsletter end to end”.
Four postings ask a single role to set the strategy and also produce the video: Descript, Glossier and both SeatGeek postings. SeatGeek names it in one bullet, asking the person to “Shoot, edit, and produce short-form video content using self-shot footage, UGC, or provided assets”.
Two postings put the person in the reply mentions rather than the feed. Datadog’s Developer Audience posting asks the person to “Treat replies as a primary surface” and to “Build the attribution model connecting what you publish to trials and signups”. Perplexity states the writing load in one line: “You’ll write most of what goes out yourself.”
Escalation and compliance appear in eight postings and look different at different employers. Betterment asks for “routing content for reviews and approvals, and maintaining accurate compliance documentation”, which is a regulated-industry requirement. Epic Games asks its Ops Director to “oversee governance, tone, and consistency of Fortnite’s brand voice across all game modes and global regions”. Ramp asks the person to “flag and route issues as they arise on social media”.
The two lowest function counts belong to the two most senior postings in the collection, and the reason is visible in the text rather than inferred. Epic Games’ Influencer Marketing Director posting names six functions and none of them is copywriting, publishing or community reply work. Rothy’s Influencer Marketing Manager posting is the only one in the collection that names budget tracking and agency direction together, asking the person to “Track budget: manage program spend across creators and agency partners”.
These counts describe what nineteen employers wrote down on one date. They are not a job description template, not a list of skills to acquire, and not an argument about how any team should be arranged.
5. What these postings cannot tell you
Ten limits apply to everything above, and each one is a limit of the evidence rather than a hedge on the reporting.
- The candidate pool was 630 hand-compiled board tokens, so this is a convenience sample rather than a census of employers.
- Three applicant-tracking providers were queried. Employers using other HR recruitment software, their own careers software, or hiring without a public posting are absent by construction.
- One collection date produced this snapshot. It supports no statement about direction over time.
- Nineteen postings across twelve companies is small in a way that rules out any average, any benchmark, and any per-city or per-seniority breakdown.
- A published range is an offer to negotiate. It is not a salary paid through an employer’s payroll process, not an offer made to anyone, and not what the person eventually hired will earn.
- Postings that were live on 2026-08-28 may have closed since. Every row links to its posting so a reader can check the current state.
- The 389 tokens that did not resolve to a live board with an open posting are evidence of nothing in either direction.
- The number of postings that matched the title filter before the salary rule was applied was never saved, so this page reports only the two funnel counts it can recompute.
- Annual United States dollar postings only. Hourly postings and postings outside the United States were excluded, so this page says nothing about either.
- Where a range came from a structured salary field rather than body text, the employer’s own wording is unavailable, and the three e.l.f. Beauty rows say so.
What the dataset does support is narrow and solid: these nineteen named postings, at these URLs, published these ranges and named these functions, on 2026-08-28. Nothing here is a market rate, and nothing here is advice.
Why some of these employers published a range at all
Every location in this collection sits in a jurisdiction with a pay transparency requirement on job postings, which is the plainest available explanation for why a range appears in a posting at all.
- New York State Labor Law Section 194-B requires businesses with four or more employees to list compensation ranges for advertised job opportunities, promotions and transfers, per the New York State Department of Labor pay transparency page (retrieved 2026-08-28). Nine postings here name a New York location.
- The New York City Human Rights Law has required a good faith pay range in all job advertisements since November 1, 2022, per the NYC Commission on Human Rights salary transparency page (retrieved 2026-08-28).
- California Labor Code Section 432.3 requires an employer with 15 or more employees to include the pay scale in any job posting, and the Labor Commissioner’s Office reads that as applying if the position may ever be filled in California, in person or remotely, per the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement FAQ (retrieved 2026-08-28). Eleven postings here name a California location.
- The Illinois Equal Pay Act has required employers with 15 or more employees to include compensation and benefits in job postings for Illinois work since January 1, 2025, per the Illinois Department of Labor equal pay page (retrieved 2026-08-28). One posting here names Chicago.
- The Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities Act requires employers with 15 or more employees to include a wage scale or salary range in job postings, per the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries page (retrieved 2026-08-28). One posting here, Epic Games’ Ops Director role, publishes a Washington range.
No claim is made here that any specific posting published its range because of a specific law. These are the requirements in force in the jurisdictions the postings name, and that is where this section stops.
Checking the postings yourself
The rule was narrow: three applicant-tracking providers, a fixed title filter, and a range the employer published in the posting itself. Nineteen postings from twelve companies met it on 2026-08-28. Their published minimums ran from $80,000 to $173,568 in the social media family and their published maximums ran from $99,500 to $229,788, with the two influencer postings reported separately and reaching a published maximum of $261,381. The same nineteen postings named eighteen distinct functions between them, with reporting in all nineteen and paid social in one.
Every figure on this page sits one click from the document it came from. The postings were live on 2026-08-28, some will have closed since, and the links in Section 2 let you open any row and check it against what the employer wrote.

Questions readers ask
Why did so few social media postings publish a salary range?
Nineteen postings across twelve companies published a range on 2026-08-28, out of 241 boards that resolved to a live board with at least one open posting. The count that would explain the scarcity properly, how many postings matched the title filter before the salary rule was applied, was never saved by the collector, so this page does not report a ratio and does not guess one. No motive is attributed to any employer.
Is the top of a published range what the job actually pays?
A published range is an offer to negotiate, written before any candidate applied. Betterment states the standard caveat in its own posting: actual salaries may vary by location, experience and performance, and the range is one component of the total compensation package. None of the nineteen ranges here is a salary paid to a person.
Why are the minimums and maximums reported separately instead of as an average?
Nineteen postings from twelve companies support order statistics about named postings and nothing more. A lowest published minimum of $80,000 is an observation about four specific postings you can open. An average across nineteen postings from twelve self-selected employers on one day would be an estimate dressed as a measurement, so this page does not compute one.
Did the same job pay differently in different cities?
Flexport published the identical title, Social Media & Content Manager, in three cities and two ranges: $90,000 to $114,000 in both New York City and San Francisco, and $80,000 to $104,000 in Chicago. SeatGeek published the identical title in New York and as Remote United States at the same $80,000 to $116,000. Epic Games publishes three regional ranges inside one posting for its Ops Director role, from $130,561 to $191,489 in Washington up to $156,674 to $229,788 in New York City. Three employers support no general statement about geography.
Are influencer and creator partnership roles counted with the social media roles here?
Seventeen postings carry the social media tag and two carry the influencer and creator partnerships tag, and they are reported separately in every figure on this page. You can read the two influencer postings individually in Section 3. Two postings are too few to support any statement about that family as a whole.
Were these postings still open when I read this?
The nineteen postings were live on 2026-08-28 and each one returned a readable page that day. Job postings close, so some of these will be gone by the time you open them. Every row in Section 2 links to the employer’s own posting so you can check its current state rather than take this page’s word for it.
How many functions did one posting ask a single role to cover?
The counts run from six to twelve out of the eighteen coded functions. Brex’s Lead, Social Media posting and Ramp’s Social Media Manager posting each name twelve, and Epic Games’ Influencer Marketing Director posting names six. Five postings, Betterment plus all three Flexport postings plus Glossier, ask one person to write the copy, produce the video, make the graphics, handle community replies and report on the results.
Collected and coded 2026-08-28. Internal review date: 12 months. A later collection will be published as a new dated section or a new post, and the figures above stay attributed to 2026-08-28.

Resolved but deliberately not cited
| # | URL | Date fetched | HTTP status | Why not cited |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 48 | https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202120220SB1162 | 2026-08-28 | 200 | The California enforcing agency FAQ (row 42) states the operative posting requirement more directly, so the bill text is redundant on the page. |
| 49 | https://calcivilrights.ca.gov/paydatareporting/faqs/ | 2026-08-28 | 200 | Covers California pay data reporting, which is a different obligation from the job posting requirement. Off topic for this page. |
| 50 | https://cdle.colorado.gov/equalpaycolorado | 2026-08-28 | 404 | Colorado was a candidate jurisdiction for this collection. No posting in this collection names a Colorado location, so the claim was dropped rather than re-sourced. |
| 51 | https://labor.illinois.gov/laws-rules/equalpay.html | 2026-08-28 | 404 | Wrong path. Replaced with row 43, found by reading the links on the Illinois Department of Labor home page. |

| 57 | https://www.ilga.gov/legislation/publicacts/fulltext.asp?Name=103-0539 | 2026-08-28 | 000 | Connection failed. Not cited. The Illinois agency page (row 43) carries the provision and its effective date. |
Local files read (not URLs)
The collection artifacts read for this page, none of them URLs: the 19-row dataset itself, the method file frozen before collection, the list of 241 resolved boards, and the collection script, re-read to confirm the implemented salary sanity window and the exclusion of postings located outside the United States.
